PCA9508: 可热插拔的电平变换I2C总线转发器

PCA9508是一款CMOS集成电路,支持零偏移热交换并为I²C总线或SMBus应用提供低电压(低至0.9 V)和更高电压(2.7 V至5.5 V)之间的电平切换。它在电平切换过程中保留I²C总线系统所有工作模式和功能,同时还允许通过为数据(SDA)和时钟(SCL)线路提供双向缓冲允许I²C总线扩展,从而可使用两条400 pF的总线。使用PCA9508能使系统设计师将总线电压和电容隔离成两半,进行热交换和电压电平变换。而且,可按任意顺序给双电源引脚上电;当任何电源引脚未通电时,5 V容差I/O为高阻抗。

热交换功能允许将I/O卡插入带电背板中而不会损坏数据和时钟总线。控制电路会防止背板连接到卡上,直至背板上出现停止命令或总线闲置且卡上没有总线冲突。零偏移输出电压允许串联多个PCA9508并仍保持极佳的噪音容限。

PCA9508具有B侧和A侧总线驱动器。2.7 V至5.5 V总线B侧驱动器的性能类似PCA9515A器件上的驱动器,而可调节电压总线A侧驱动器能驱动更多电流且不会引起静态偏移电压。这使B侧的低电平能变换成A侧几乎0 V的低电平。

B侧PCA9508 I/O器件的静态偏移设计能防止其连接具有上升时间加速器的另一器件,包括PCA9510/A、PCA9511/A、PCA9512/A、PCA9513/A或PCA9514/A,或者具有静态偏移电压的另一器件,包括PCA9507(B侧)、PCA9508(B侧)、PCA9509(A侧)、PCA9515/A、PCA9516A、PCA9517/A(B侧)、PCA9518、PCA9519(A侧)或P82B96/PCA9600(Sx/Sy侧)。但是,A侧可一并连接两个或多个PCA9508,这样就构成一个A侧位于共用总线上的星形拓扑,因而A侧可直接连接至带有静态或动态偏移电压的任何其他缓冲器。可按A侧至B侧串联多个PCA9508,不会积聚偏移电压,只需考虑渡越时间延迟。

除非总线闲置、VCC(A)高于0.8 V且VCC(B)高于2.5 V,否则不会启用PCA9508驱动器。也可使用EN引脚在系统控制下打开和关闭驱动器。应该注意,当总线闲置时仅改变使能引脚的状态。

B侧内部缓冲器的输出下拉低电平设为大约0.5 V,而内部缓冲器的输入阈值设为大约70 mV以下(0.43 V)。当B侧I/O内部驱动为低电平时,输入端不会将低电平识别为低电平。这能防止发生锁定状况。A侧的输出下拉会驱动一个真正的低电平且输入电平设为0.5VCC(A)以适应系统中更低低电平的需求,其中低电压侧供电电压低至0.9 V。
