Our commercial grade VortiQa® Layer 1 baseband software for wireless infrastructure is designed for use with NXP’s QorIQ® Qonverge BSC913x family of devices. The software is designed to support both 4G (FDD-LTE, TDD-LTE and LTE-Advanced) and 3G (WCDMA, HSPA+) cellular technologies. QorIQ Qonverge® BSC9131 SoC is targeted for residential femtocells and the BSC9132 SoC is targeted for indoor and outdoor enterprise picocells. The BSC9131 device consists of a single tile (e500 Power Architecture(R) core + SC3850 StarCore® DSP core) where as the BSC9132 is a dual-tile architecture. NXP’s Smart DSP operating system (SDOS) powers the StarCore DSPs. The VortiQa L1 software stack has been integrated with 3rd party L2/L3 stacks, NXP’s VortiQa IPsec software, and end to end qualified with both test and commercial UEs on an optimized FSL HW development platform. This full system solution strategy significantly accelerates time to market goals for prospective customers.

The commercial quality VortiQa L1 software for LTE is designed for both FDD-LTE and TDD-LTE modes of operation that are compliant to 3GPP Rel 8, 9 and 10 standards. The L1 software for WCDMA is designed to support both voice (R99) and data services (HSDPA and HSUPA) and is compliant to the 3GPP Rel 8 standard. A key feature of VortiQa L1 software is support for simultaneous operation of 4G and 3G technologies on a single silicon (BSC9132) platform. This enables technology upgrades with no change to hardware configuration resulting in significant savings in network CapEx and OpEx.
